Union Home Minister Amit Shah confirmed that the Waqf Amendment Bill will be tabled in the ongoing Budget session of Parliament following the submission of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) report. He reassured that the bill aims to align Waqf-related laws with constitutional principles and will not be implemented retrospectively.
The bill is expected to address concerns regarding land ownership and Waqf property regulations, particularly in cases where prime properties were declared as Waqf land without legal recourse. Amit Shah cited the example of 123 prime properties in Delhi, including the Chandra Shekhar Azad Garden in Prayagraj, which was declared as Waqf land.
Responding to concerns about delimitation, Amit Shah stated that the BJP remains committed to ensuring fairness and justice during the process. He emphasized that delimitation will not result in any bias or injustice and that no rules regarding delimitation have been framed yet.
Amit Shah hailed the recent Jammu & Kashmir elections as a historic milestone, noting that:
✅ No re-polling was required for the first time in 40 years.
✅ No tear gas or bullets were used during the elections.
✅ Voter turnout was 60%, marking a significant change in the region.
Regarding the restoration of J&K’s statehood, he reiterated that it will happen at an appropriate time, aligning with the government’s long-term vision for the region.

Amit Shah dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s claims of not being allowed to speak in Parliament, clarifying that Congress was allocated 42% of the debate time but chose not to utilize it effectively. He questioned why Congress failed to make use of their allotted time and highlighted Gandhi’s frequent foreign trips.
Expressing confidence in NDA’s victory in Bihar and Tamil Nadu, Amit Shah highlighted the developmental work done by the Modi government and Nitish Kumar’s administration in Bihar. He assured that NDA will return to power in the state with an even bigger majority.
Regarding Tamil Nadu, Amit Shah criticized DMK’s governance, accusing it of misgovernance, corruption, and failure to provide medical and engineering education in Tamil. He stated that delimitation is being used as a distraction from real governance failures.
On the Manipur issue, Amit Shah stated that the situation is gradually stabilizing, with shops and markets reopening. He assured that efforts are being made to restore complete normalcy.
Amit Shah addressed concerns over the Places of Worship Act, stating that the court will deliver justice on pending petitions. He also criticized the Karnataka Congress government’s move to grant 4% reservation to Muslims in public contracts, calling it unconstitutional. He emphasized that reservation should be based on merit, not religion.
