Bar Council of India Removes 107 Fake Advocates from  Delhi Roll to Uphold Legal Integrity The Bar Council of India (BCI) has taken decisive action in a sweeping initiative aimed at maintaining the integrity of the legal profession by removing 107 fake advocates  from the Roll of Advocates in Delhi  between 2019 and October 2024. This step comes as part of the BCI's rigorous verification process to ensure that only qualified, genuinely practising advocates remain in the profession, ultimately upholding public trust in the legal system. Strengthened Verification Framework Under Rule 32 This effort falls under Rule 32 of the Bar Council of India Certificate and Place of Practice (Verification) Rules, 2015 . The BCI  amended Rule 32 on June 23, 2023 , which empowered the BCI to verify, identify, and systematically remove unqualified and fake advocates from the Roll. Overall Performance

India made its mark at the Paris Olympics 2024, securing a total of six medals, which included one silver and five bronze. The Indian contingent consisted of 117 athletes competing across various sports. In the overall medals tally, India finished in the 71st position, while the United States topped the chart with 126 medals.


Medal Winners


1. Neeraj Chopra: The star of Indian athletics, Neeraj Chopra, shone brightly once again. He won a silver medal in the men's javelin throw, solidifying his reputation as India's most successful individual Olympian.


2. Manu Bhaker: The young shooting sensation made history by becoming the first Indian woman to win an Olympic shooting medal. She bagged a bronze in the women's shooting event and later clinched another bronze in the mixed team 10m air pistol event alongside Sarabjot Singh. This achievement made her the first Indian to win two medals in a single Olympic edition.

Near Misses and Heartbreaks


Despite these achievements, India experienced several close calls and narrow misses. Six potential medal opportunities were lost as athletes finished fourth in their respective events. Notable athletes like Lakshya Sen, Mirabai Chanu, and Manu Bhaker narrowly missed the podium. A significant heartbreak was Vinesh Phogat's disqualification ahead of what could have been a historic final.
