Bar Council of India Removes 107 Fake Advocates from  Delhi Roll to Uphold Legal Integrity The Bar Council of India (BCI) has taken decisive action in a sweeping initiative aimed at maintaining the integrity of the legal profession by removing 107 fake advocates  from the Roll of Advocates in Delhi  between 2019 and October 2024. This step comes as part of the BCI's rigorous verification process to ensure that only qualified, genuinely practising advocates remain in the profession, ultimately upholding public trust in the legal system. Strengthened Verification Framework Under Rule 32 This effort falls under Rule 32 of the Bar Council of India Certificate and Place of Practice (Verification) Rules, 2015 . The BCI  amended Rule 32 on June 23, 2023 , which empowered the BCI to verify, identify, and systematically remove unqualified and fake advocates from the Roll. Agnikul Cosmos Successfully Launches Agnibaan SoRTed-01 from Private Launchpad in Sriharikota



Sriharikota, India – In a landmark achievement for India’s private space sector, startup Agnikul Cosmos has successfully launched the Agnibaan SoRTed-01 mission from their dedicated launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC SHAR) in Sriharikota. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) announced the news on Thursday, marking this event as a major milestone in India’s space exploration endeavors.


ISRO Congratulates Agnikul Cosmos


ISRO lauded Agnikul Cosmos for their achievement, terming it as a significant step forward. "Congratulations, @AgnikulCosmos, for the successful launch of the Agnibaan SoRTed-01 mission from their launch pad. A major milestone as the first-ever controlled flight of a semi-cryogenic liquid engine realised through additive manufacturing," ISRO posted on X.


Innovative Engine and Avionics


The engine test, driven by Agnikul’s in-house designed data acquisition systems and flight computers, highlights the startup’s technological prowess. This successful launch not only demonstrated the effectiveness of the semi-cryogenic liquid engine but also validated the avionics chain of the SOrTeD vehicle, confirming its ability to control the entire propulsion system.


Agnibaan's Capabilities and Flexibility


Agnibaan, the vehicle used in the SoRTed-01 mission, is capable of carrying payloads up to 300 kg to orbits around 700 km high. It can access both low and high inclination orbits and is highly versatile, designed to operate from more than 10 different launch ports. The vehicle, which runs on LOX/Kerosene engines, can be configured by customers based on their specific mission requirements.


India's Growing Space Sector


This achievement by Agnikul Cosmos is part of a broader surge in India's space sector. In 2023, India celebrated significant milestones including the successful soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon’s South Pole and the launch of Aditya-L1, the country’s first solar mission. These accomplishments have not only bolstered India’s position in the global space economy but have also invigorated the private space sector.


Future Ambitions


India’s space ambitions continue to grow, with plans to establish the 'Bharatiya Antariksha Station' by 2035 and send the first Indian to the Moon by 2040. These goals underscore the nation's commitment to advancing its capabilities in space exploration and technology.

2. Indian Space Policy: Enacted by the Department of Space, this policy outlines India's approach to space exploration, satellite communication, and the participation of private entities in space activities.


3. Satellite Communication Policy, 2000: This policy provides a framework for the use of satellite communication in India, including the allocation of frequency bands and the regulation of satellite launches.


4. Outer Space Treaty, 1967: As a signatory, India is committed to the peaceful exploration of space and the prohibition of placing nuclear weapons in orbit or on celestial bodies.

Legal Proceedings Initiated Against Former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren Cognizance Taken by PMLA Court A Special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court in Ranchi has taken cognizance of a prosecution complaint filed by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) against Hemant Soren, the former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). The complaint, comprising 5,500 pages, pertains to a money laundering case related to a land 'scam'. The central probe agency has also attached 8.5 acres of land in connection with the case. Detention and Extended Custody Hemant Soren, who was arrested on January 31, is currently detained at the Birsa Munda Central Jail in Hotwar, Ranchi.
