This step comes as part of the BCI's rigorous verification process to ensure that only qualified, genuinely practising advocates remain in the profession, ultimately upholding public trust in the legal system. Strengthened Verification Framework Under Rule 32 This effort falls under Rule 32 of the Bar Council of India Certificate and Place of Practice (Verification) Rules, 2015 . India-Philippines Defense Cooperation: BrahMos Missile System Deliveries Continue

In a testament to the burgeoning defense ties between India and the Philippines, deliveries of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles from India to the Philippines are underway as part of a USD 375 million agreement. This ongoing supply forms a crucial component of the defense contract signed between the two nations, reaffirming their commitment to bolstering security cooperation.

New Batch Arrives in Manila

Recently, another batch of BrahMos missile system supplies reached an air base in Manila, transported via a chartered Ilyushin-76 transport aircraft from India. With officials from both India and the Philippines overseeing the receipt of the equipment, this marks a significant step forward in their defense partnership.

Continued Delivery Amidst Tensions

This delivery follows the initial shipment of supersonic cruise missiles to the Philippines on April 19, facilitated by the Indian Air Force's C-17 Globemaster transport aircraft. Ground systems accompanying the BrahMos missiles were also exported to the Philippines last month, enhancing the country's defense capabilities. These deliveries come at a critical juncture, as tensions between the Philippines and China have escalated, particularly in the South China Sea.

Enhancing Defense Capabilities

The decision of the Philippines to acquire the BrahMos missile system underscores its commitment to safeguarding territorial integrity and addressing regional security challenges. The deployment of three batteries of BrahMos missiles along the Philippine coast highlights the nation's proactive approach to enhancing its defense posture.

Renowned Precision and Speed

Developed as a joint venture between India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Russia's NPO Mashinostroyeniya, the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile is acclaimed for its precision and speed. It has significantly bolstered India's deterrence capabilities and stands as one of the world's most successful missile programs.

Strengthening Defense Capabilities

Since its induction into the Indian Army in 2007, multiple BrahMos regiments have been integrated into India's arsenal, further enhancing its defense capabilities. The ongoing supply of BrahMos missiles to the Philippines highlights the deepening defense cooperation between the two countries and underscores their shared commitment to regional security and stability.
