Bar Council of India Removes 107 Fake Advocates from  Delhi Roll to Uphold Legal Integrity The Bar Council of India (BCI) has taken decisive action in a sweeping initiative aimed at maintaining the integrity of the legal profession by removing 107 fake advocates  from the Roll of Advocates in Delhi  between 2019 and October 2024. This step comes as part of the BCI's rigorous verification process to ensure that only qualified, genuinely practising advocates remain in the profession, ultimately upholding public trust in the legal system. Strengthened Verification Framework Under Rule 32 This effort falls under Rule 32 of the Bar Council of India Certificate and Place of Practice (Verification) Rules, 2015 . The BCI  amended Rule 32 on June 23, 2023 , which empowered the BCI to verify, identify, and systematically remove unqualified and fake advocates from the Roll. India Leads Global AI Race, Says NetApp-Savanta Report



The recent report by NetApp, a leading intelligent data infrastructure company, in collaboration with Savanta, sheds light on the global landscape of artificial intelligence (AI) adoption. Titled "Cloud Complexity: The AI Imperative," the report delineates the divide between countries at the forefront of AI innovation and those trailing behind. 


Global AI Adoption Landscape


According to the report, countries such as India, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States are spearheading AI adoption and innovation. Conversely, nations like Spain, Australia, and Germany are identified as lagging in this technological advancement. The study surveyed over 1,300 executives across 10 countries to gauge the status of AI implementation across various industries.


Key Findings


The report reveals that 60 percent of companies in leading countries have AI projects underway or in pilot phases, while only 36 percent of companies in lagging countries have similar initiatives. Moreover, there is a notable difference in approach between AI leaders and laggards. Globally, 67 percent of companies in AI-leading countries report having hybrid IT environments, while AI laggards lag significantly behind at 24 percent.

Gabie Boko, Chief Marketing Officer at NetApp, emphasizes the importance of data readiness in the era of AI, stating that enterprises with unified data infrastructures are best positioned to succeed. The report suggests that AI-laggard countries must innovate and adopt AI swiftly to remain competitive.

Legal Proceedings Initiated Against Former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren Cognizance Taken by PMLA Court A Special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court in Ranchi has taken cognizance of a prosecution complaint filed by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) against Hemant Soren, the former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM).
